Brothers in Arms - Announcements February 2026

This year for the Brothers in Arms community started with numerous changes to the way the system will work. Those changes were discussed in the special training held on February 3rd, mainly led by Maj. Doctor, SFC. Mo, Col. Aris and a few other members who were invited at the end to make suggestions. In the meeting, there were mentions of changes to the ORBAT, changes to the department training system, changes to how BiA members will play during operations, and more.

Following the training, an announcement was made on February 11th, where more detailed descriptions were shared with the community regarding the new department, training updates and game updates, alongside a promise that this is but the start of a chain of changes that aim to further improve the community as a whole.

The brand new changes will be mentioned first, followed by details about some of the previous, but still recent, changes that took place, and lastly the discussions that were brought up at the suggestions section, which took place at the end of the special training.

Upcoming New Support Platoon.

Aiming to get closer to the ‘milsim’ aspect and create some distance from the arcade style, BiA is introducing a new support platoon, “Signal Platoon”. They will take a variety of different roles, including but not limited to Radio Rebroadcasting and Signal Boosting, Radio Telephone Operators and Electronic Warfare such as triangulation, jamming and radio interception. They will also be there to help avoid the radio traffic that would come with having multiple support assets. Additionally, the Signal Platoon can be part of friendly forces as BLUFOR, or enemy forces such as an OPFOR asset.

Department Training Update.

Starting on March 1st, the support platoons are going to be changing the training system to a new template, a four-stage training school where each phase exists to teach members the necessary knowledge to perform that role in the platoon. Now, there will be a final exam that aims to check if the lessons can be correctly applied by the member, to ensure only those dedicated and competent are admitted.

Members of any supporting platoon or attached asset are expected to attend at least one additional training every three months to maintain their certification. To aid in the new platoon training system, BiA will now have three training sessions a month instead of two, which will take place on the first, second and third Tuesday of the month. It is also important to mention that the attendance requirements weren’t changed and members are still required to attend 50% of training days.

Updates To The Text Channels.

Text channels will no longer be open in BiA operations. Thanks to the new safeguards in the Respawn on Team script, such as no longer being able to teleport to unconscious players, therefore making it much safer to get back in the fight, eliminating the need for asking in the group channel. Even better methods to prevent spawning into combat will arrive in the near future.

Important to know that players will have a new way of requesting Zeus for assistance when needed, however more details will be revealed when the change is implemented.

Changes to Shared Markers.

Map Markers will no longer be shared automatically across all players, but instead be limited to every player’s individual maps. A player can copy marked maps from one another, and if they stand next to each other they can contribute to a shared map via direct chat or vehicle chat channels.

ORBAT changes.

Thanks to the recent growth in size of the community, it created a necessity of supporting the heads of each department, so the ORBAT was updated to reflect that. It now splits each department into three categories, each managed by one of the commanders who will help take care of certain aspects.

Capt. Uni_Play is now responsible for the Combat Manoeuvre Element, which includes the following departments: Attached Armour, Attached Aviation and Infantry Platoon.

Capt. Bovan is now responsible for the Intelligence, Surveillance, Target Acquisition & Reconnaissance (ISTAR) Element, which includes the following departments: Reconnaissance Platoon, Support Weapons Platoon, Intelligence Platoon and the new Signals Platoon.

Lastly, Capt. Miletic is now responsible for the Combat Sustainment Element, which includes the following departments: Medical Support Platoon and Combat Logistics Support (CLS) Platoon.

Suggestions Section.

At the end of the training, Maj. Doctor opened the possibility of making quick and succinct suggestions in the text channel, followed by an invitation to make a case for it in the voice channel if the suggestion sounded reasonable enough.

The first member brought up the fact that training days should be included in BiA’s calendar on the website. In the conversation, other members added that they even have alarms on their phones to remind themselves of training days. In the discussion, there was mention of the fact that all members are already aware that training days take place on the first and third Tuesday of the month, but that it would be good to add it to the calendar regardless.

The second member started by mentioning the website needed to be updated, the example that was used was that the articles were outdated, as well as the “about us” section, which by the time of this article, didn’t include the Reforger branch. During the discussion, it was revealed that there were already plans in place to update the website.

The third member requested for the weekly operations to be announced at least four to five days before the event takes place, backed up by another member who added that it leaves no time for people outside of Europe to take slots if they happen at any later than that. While the suggestion was discussed, it concluded in the promise that there will be efforts into making sure the announcements won’t happen last minute.

A fourth member asked for a specific channel for any member of the community to be able to make suggestions to mission makers about possible operations, to aid in creativity. This suggestion seemed to be well-received by the community.

Lastly, a fifth member raised questions and concerns about the growth of the Reforger branch in BiA, which was answered by Maj. Doctor. To summarize the discussion, there are a lot of plans to make the Reforger branch bigger and better in the near future, such as new departments, especially now that Maj, Doctor is responsible for Reforger's management.
