DCS (Digital Combat Simulator) is a realistic flight simulation game, centered around fixed wing and rotary military aircraft.
The virtual CVW-17 Carrier Air Wing operates the F/A-18C Hornet VFA-34 squadron and the F14-B Tomcat VF-103 squadron, simulating the composition of the real CVW-17 in the early 2000's. Our carrier and flagship is the CVN-73 George Washington.
We fly missions and trainings every Monday and Wednesday at 19:00 GMT. We are comprised by people from all skill levels and professions and are lucky enough to have a real naval aviator in our ranks.
Our mission profile is diverse and covers the entire multirole spectrum. Missions usually last 2+ hours and may include a variety of tasks, such as: SEAD, DEAD, CAP, CAS, Strike, Anti-ship etc. As we are a naval wing, carrier landings and air to air refuelings are the norm and we constantly train in them.
The squadron utilizes realistic comms between different flights using the SRS radio software, those that are unfamiliar with the software will be trained on how to use it, if you have any questions feel free to message Harker (CAG) or CptJackCooper (DCAG).
