What is this?

Well happy you ask, this little article is outlining operations for Arma 3, DCS and any other things which happen within and occasionally outside of BIA. I hope to make these a somewhat regular occurrence however lets see what happens. The overall objective of this article is to keep people informed of the prices of games that we use in BIA, information about updates to mods and the game itself and provide a bit more insight and information into the operations we all sign up for. And a tad of history. Hope you enjoy reading this and maybe see you again soon!

The following will cover news on Arma 3 within and outside of BIA.

Arma 3 Update & News

• Recently, CUP Updated to add the German Armed Forces as well as some newer Russian Army vehicles, here is a full update changelog.

• ACRE2 Updated to add the ability for radios to be heard by spectators. 

• Creation of the new BIA Spectre which is a dogy PMC Company which operates on Tuesday from 18:00 GMT. If you are interested in this go the BIA Units category on discord to find out more.

  

• Arma 3 Art of War Contest Winners were also announced, congratulations to those who won said contest and in addition most content and mods made for the contest are now beginning to be released check them out on the Steam Workshop.

Arma 3 Upcoming BIA Operations

PvP Run for Tunis

This long awaited PvP battle against the Red Devils, as we all know, has resulted in our Thursday operation being cancelled in order to work on our drills and skills. This operation is on Sunday (20/09/2020) and we will be playing as the German 5th Regiment of the Fallshirmjager-Brigade with two platoons of two squads. The basic run down of the history of the operation is - We will be fighting the Red Devils in North Africa in the time period of  3rd of December 1942. Preventing the British paratroopers access into Tunis. Our main objective will be to attack and halt the offensive.

DCS News

The following will cover news on DCS within and outside of BIA.

DCS Update & News

• For a while now the DCS group under the name “CVW-17 Carrier Air Wing” have been operating with around a flight of players and conducting lots of interesting operations in life like cockpits for hours at a time. By easily checking the DCS channel on discord and reading some of the content, it is interesting to read and even watch some of the clips. 

• DCS have recently started using full VOIP within the game to talk in real time within the aircraft.

DCS Upcoming Operations

• Just a reminder, DCS operations occur on Monday and Wednesday from 19:00 GMT. All information required to join can be found from Harker and what is needed can be found.

Other Milsim Game New

• Squad got a new interesting update adding a range of new things. Firstly the new faction the Middle Eastern Alliance using the G3 as their main rifle with an assortment of old and new russian equipment. But the long awaited Fallujah  has also been introduced. Even with its clunkiness at first it is really shaping up to be a real cool addition to Squad. If you are interested in reading more follow this link.
