Coop Lost in the Jungle

Situation: A major counterattack by the Vietnamese cut off many American forces from their main force.

A Company of the 7th Marine Division was ordered to evacuate the camp and try to escape.

Many enemy forces are directed towards them. Their rescue is only in their hands since helicopters can not fly due to the existence of many enemy anti air missiles.

They must move fast and try to escape.


Exactly at 07:00, the 7th Marine Division, from their stronghold, headed east-northeast to save themselves
from enemy attacks that were coming in frequent as well as in large waves.

American troops fought hard and went through several enemy ambushes and traps.
Sometimes they had to swim, all to save their heads and save themselves from the already lost war.

Platoon 1 and Platoon 2 decided it would be safest to go by the river, where the terrain is cleanest and where the enemy could not make
so many ambushes.

Platoon 1 was northwest of the river on the left side of the riverbed, while Platoon 2 was on the northeast side, at a higher altitude
than Platoon 1, so they fired crossfire and covered each other.

As Platoon 2 had an advantage over Platoon 1 due to its higher altitude, it progressed faster, but it was also more frequent in fierce battles and ambushes.

The enemy also tried to stop our fighters with armored vehicles and even tanks, but American forces managed to fight back.

After some time of bloody and strong fighting, and with several losses, American forces managed to save themselves from the hands of the enemy and thus reached the American air base on the north side of the river, from where they were rescued by plane from Vietnam.

Friendly man losses: 70 man killed or captured

Enemy man losses: 266 man killed or captured
Enemy ground vehicles: 5 destroyed
