Before the outbreak of war, the island of Sahrani was divided between two states: the pro-U.S. Kingdom of South Sahrani and the socialist North, formerly backed by the Soviet Union.

Following the 9/11 attacks, a small contingent of U.S. Army advisors was deployed to the South in 2002 to train the Royal Army Corps of Sahrani (RACS) and help prevent terrorist groups from using the island as a staging ground for attacks against North America.

The North strongly condemned the American presence, and tensions between the two nations steadily escalated over the next four years.

As the U.S. advisory mission prepared to withdraw in 2006, the North secretly mobilized its military for a full-scale invasion. On June 10th, only days after most American troops had departed, the Sahrani Liberation Army (SLA) launched a surprise assault across the border into Southern territory.

The remaining U.S. forces consisted mostly of logistical units equipped with only a handful of HMMWVs, utility trucks, and Stryker APCs. Caught off guard and heavily outnumbered, they retreated alongside RACS forces as the SLA rapidly advanced south.

By June 11th, the SLA had captured the border town of Corazol and pushed deeper into South Sahrani. U.S. commanders initially attempted to organize a defensive line near Ortego, intending to counterattack toward Corazol, but overwhelming SLA numbers and the collapse of supporting RACS units forced a withdrawal to Dolores.

At Dolores, two U.S. platoons stayed behind to destroy the bridges leading into the town. After several SLA tank units crossed, the bridges were demolished, temporarily halting the enemy advance and cutting off their armored spearhead. Allied forces then withdrew toward the Southern capital, Paraíso.

Although delayed, the SLA offensive continued. Their lack of night-vision equipment, however, prevented large-scale nighttime operations. Exploiting this advantage, U.S. forces launched night raids from Gulan against SLA positions near Somato, destroying several armored units before retreating.

Despite these successes, allied troops continued falling back under pressure. On June 12th, the SLA attempted an amphibious landing near Paraíso International Airport to outflank the remaining defenders.

RACS troops and the surviving American contingent prepared for a last stand and were nearly overwhelmed before the arrival of the U.S. Marine Corps' 27th Marine Expeditionary Unit. Marine air support devastated the attacking SLA force and stabilized the front.

With reinforcements secured, allied forces planned a counteroffensive along the northern coastline. Heavy SLA defenses initially prevented a direct assault, so recon teams infiltrated behind enemy lines and sabotaged anti-aircraft batteries, allowing Marine aircraft and attack helicopters to strike SLA positions freely.

Supported by American armor and airpower, RACS forces advanced north toward Corazol and the border cities, liberating them by June 14th. During the liberation campaign, soldiers discovered a mass grave in the town of Cayo, believed to contain civilians executed by Northern troops.

The discovery transformed the war from a defensive campaign into an invasion of the North aimed at overthrowing Prime Minister Torrez's regime.

In reality, the Cayo massacre had been staged by elements within the Southern monarchy to justify invading the North. Civilians from Cayo were being held for execution when advancing U.S. troops nearly uncovered the operation. RACS soldiers attacked the Americans to prevent the truth from emerging, though the incident was later dismissed publicly as an SLA false-flag attack.

Meanwhile, allied forces assembled invasion units at Modesta and Gaula. A preemptive SLA strike against both bases failed, and U.S. and RACS troops launched their own offensive into Northern territory, targeting the city of Obregan.

Retreating SLA convoys were intercepted and destroyed, while a major armored division stationed near Eponia was eliminated by U.S. tanks, crippling the North's ability to counterattack.

Simultaneous amphibious assaults were launched along the Northern coastline, including attacks on Hunapu and Mataredo. These operations severed SLA supply lines, and by the end of June 15th most major Northern population centers and military installations had fallen under allied control.

As allied troops approached the Northern capital of Bagango, the SLA launched a final desperate counterattack against the U.S. firebase at Tandag. The assault briefly regained momentum before overwhelming American airpower shattered the remaining SLA forces, forcing them to retreat back to the capital.

On June 16th, six days after the war began, joint U.S. Army and Marine armored units launched their final assault on Bagango. After hours of intense urban combat, the capital fell and Prime Minister Torrez was captured at his presidential palace.
