Comrades,

We are the 39th army, from the 3rd Belorussian Front, taking part on the  third phase of the Byelorussian strategic Offensive of the Red Army in  summer 1944, commonly known as Operation Bagration.

We are taking part of the liberation of Lithuania, more specific the Kaunas Offensive,  with the aim of destroying the German concentration on the western  bank of the Neman river, the occupation of Kaunas, and reaching the boundaries of East Prussia.

We find ourselves on the outskirts of Kaunas, ready to assault it. Our task is simple, but difficult: Secure Kaunas, on the both sides of the Neman river, and then setting up defensive positions to hold any German counterattack aiming to retake the city.

The German are expecting our assault, and have set up a strong defense. We can expect minefields as well as Anti-Tank mines on the roads that lead to Kaunas,  from the north. The enemy has set up in depth defense inside the city, with many AT canons and bunkers. 

We must overcome German defenses, capture Kaunas and secure it once and for all from the hands of fascism, tirany and capitalism. The liberation of Lithuania depends on US!
